10-20-2007, 8:49 AM Fanta15 Joined on 02-16-2007 04100 Posts 1,928 Meet & Greet in Milan :) Well, I met G-Queen. What can I say? It has been one of the greatest day of my life. After a series of sad situation, I got some moments very very exciting and amazing. I'll be forever thankful to the person that gave me the pass. I got two passes actually, I gave the other one to Zanou (this is her screen name), Elsa, the French girl that came from Tolosa to Milan just to see Gwen. We didn't know at what time we had to go to the venue to collect our passe so we went there early... It was 3pm I guess. We had to wait till 6:50pm and I spent 3 hours freaking out because I couldn't wait to see my pass!! LOL I became friend with two security men so they gave me the chance to come on the backstage and talk to a very nice girl that is the secretary of Lisa Kidd (Gwen's manager) and she told me that I had just to wait... She was really nice, I won't forget her helpfulness, she said I would have found my passes at the box offices during the afternoon. During the waiting I met Stephen Bradley and a couple of Harajuku Girls, Love and Baby. I talked with Stephen and he remembered that I was the girl that asked for a kiss after the second concert in London, eheh. I told him I was waiting for collecting the passes and he confirmed I had to wait the box office opening. I told him about EIT and I got two other kisses... I really love that man!! :) Actually those passes weren't available before the Box Office opened, thank God it was a nice day and the sun shined all the waiting time. There were some other persons with us waiting for those passes: a girl with a guy that didn't even know that Gwen is married and has a son and another lady that spoke both English and Italian and had a lot of little girls with her. :) Then this woman came and gave us our passes closed in letter. They were green. Some minutes later a man of the Gwen's crew came and read our name on the list. We asked if we could have brought Elsa's mom with us because she's French and doesn't speak Italian or English and that man was "Oh ok!" and gave her another pass! At the point we came into the venue... quickly... the man left us in this place that was a bit dark and unorganized compared to the other "meet&greet corner" that I've seen in these months but... whatever... G-godness was about to come!! Curtis came: wow, that man is sooooo big!! He said us the rules: no pictures while she's signing stuff, do not call your friends to make them talking to Gwen LOL. Then he said that we had to stay in circle near the walls of that "room". We wait for some seconds maybe but I couldn't stay still so I came on a bit and I saw Gwen coming to us holding Kingston!! She wore this black tight-fitting suite, she was extremely gorgeous. I came back to my place near the wall very quickly and I saw her talking we the English/Italian lady for first, she kissed her like she was an old friend... Kingston kept dancing and laughing when The Sweet Escape started in the background coming from a little stereo in the room!! He is such a cutie!! :) The little girls with the lady gave her a shirt of an Italian football team called Inter, it was for Kingston. Then Gwen talked to that woman for a bit but I didn't care of they words!! I was to excited keeping me ready for her. WOW! She was so gorgeous and so nice and... I don't know how it has been possible but when I started to talk to her, I felt like she was an old friend... She knows how to make you feeling comfortable and I was completely calm and lucid. I showed her the "Freaks Messages for Gwen" book and I told her that I was one of the 6 moderators of Everythingintime.com and that we made this initiative and "we got messages from all over the world, from your freaks, your fans!", she laughed so loud when I told her the "freaks" idea!! I was so happy!! She said that the book was "cute" and that she will read it in her free time. She was so impressed by it and she said me that she will check our website for sure. She said "Thank you" one million times and I think that I did the same. Then I gave her a cd with a video that Fabio and Daiana made for Kingston's first birthday. I also showed her some pictures of three paintings that I made, they are oil on canvas so I couldn't bring them at the meeting. Gwen kept saying "oh it's amazing", "it's wonderful", "it's gorgeous", she couldn't stop to look at them, it's the truth, I'm not saying it to be bold!! Then she looked straight in my eyes and she told me something like "We have a future artist here" and I couldn't stop to say thank you and I thought "Tell it again, tell it again" in my mind LOL!! That was the best moment of my life ever... Listening to Gwen telling me the artist thing... I was happy that she liked them and she was so calm and sweet and she gave me some minutes to describe my paintings and I told her that I left her figure as a white shape in one of them because I wanted to give a conceptual meaning to the painting, because "you are so bright". I didn't even know where my words were coming from because I didn't prepare any speech in my mind... I don't know... I just felt so comfortable talking to her... She signed my Squeal vinyl saying "this is an old rarity!" and then she signed my Don't Speak picture disc. I had my LAMB cd and the promotional photo that they gave me at for the M&G to be signed but I didn't ask for it... Actually I preferred to talk with her a bit more instead of asking her more autographs. I've been just a little bit sorry because I promised to Stephen (from EIT) that I would have asked her a signature for him on the tourbook, I'm happy that he was understanding and that he appreciated that I spent my time talking about our website instead of asking for signatures. Actually two other guys also asked me it and I was sorry for not having got it... but I'm glad that they met her at the end of the concert!! Harajuku Girls came in the M&G zone and... you have to believe me if I say that they freaked me out!! LOL I kept being nervous with them!! The time for the picture came and I gave my camera to the same Lisa Kidd's secretary that I met before. :) Some moments before the picture were takend I found myself telling Gwen something about my ex boyfriend and how much he loves her and how I worked hard to find those passes for me and him and how he broke up with me. She looked at me and she made a sweet/sad face saying "Oh noo! I'm sorry", she's so sweet... So I told her that I gave my second pass to Elsa. Then I found her hand on my shoulder... :) ...and my arm around her waist. :P After the picture she looked at me and said "Is the website everythingintime.com, right? I'll check it!". While I was going to organize my stuff in my backpack, she came near me telling that she liked my outfit, I think that she said it was stunning, I said thank you and then I kept her hand in my hand... I didn't shake it, I just hold it for some seconds and I was surprised that I wasn't sweating a lot for the nervousism! She said me "Thank you for the time you spend working for me and No Doubt, thank you for your work", I couldn't believe it. Then I got the backpack and I was going away when I remembered that I had to tell her the very last thing, so I came to her while she was speaking with Elsa and I said her "I forgot to say that I was the girl that gave you that portrait during the first concert in London! You took it on the stage!", she looked up trying to remember LOL then she gave me a big smile and said "Oh yeah! Thank you!!". While I was going away she told me "I'll check the website!" again, she looked excited, and the only thing that I remember at this point is that I was looking at her and I put my hand on my heart and I saw the English/Italian lady giving a cellphone to Gwen. She answered and said "Oh I miss you". Then Curtis said us to follow a guy and told him that he is the biggest one and I shaked his hand!! He smiled and laughed LOL Once in the crowd, I met that English/Italian lady again, she asked how we got our passes and I said her "Oh, I've seen that you personally know Gwen!". Well, she said me that she's the wife of Gavin's best friend! Cool! I asked her if Gavin was in Milan (I love Gavin) but she told me that he didn't come with Gwen this time... So I assumed that the "I miss you" that I heard from Gwen was for Gavin. :) That lady asked me what the rest of No Doubt was doing in this period and Elsa told her that they are working on the next album, waiting for Gwen. I was surprised that she didn't know that Gwen will come back with No Doubt soon... ??? ...She knew about Gavin up-coming album and she didn't know about Gwen next project. That's weird. I guess that I'll write a concert review soon. :) Pictures of my paintings (the last one is uncomplete): Me, Elsa, her mom and... G-Queen of Freaks! I'm on the right :)    Report

I wanted to ask how many minutes approx. u spent with Gwen, cuz it sounds like you had a pretty good amount of time with her. Usually from what iv heard, meet & greet's are always rushed and take no more than 2 minutes.    Report

It would've been nice to be there with you, but at least you got to talk with her and everything!! :D Wow, Jamila, the very first painting is stunning! Seriously, you know I'm not an artsy person or an expert, but I understand what you had said to Gwen, about her being so bright.... it's a really great painting :) I want one! Haha, how long does it take for you to paint one? Also, Dom wanted to know if you speak French too, cause he can speak it, though not fluently - so he felt like "aw man, I wonder if she spoke french!".... I texted you on the day of the concert, though I don't know if you got it :/ You HAVE to give me a house number to call you on!    Report
