I'll try to make it quick. I met John Spence at a party the night Ricky Nelson died (I can't remember th date off the top of my head you'll have to look it up) he said his band was playing their first show at a backyard party in Fullerton. Went to the show, asked him a few day later if he want to make t-shirts for the band, he told me the other singers brother was an artist. The next show they played I met Eric Stefani, he said you like animation?.... I like animation. We became friends I hung out at the Stefani house and did Roadie stuff for the band. Eric Stefani and I both worked on the Simpsons and carpooled. I lived at the Beacon Street (Avenue) house with Eric and Tom and our Garage is where Tragic Kingdom was written.... blah blah blah, that's it in a big *** nutshell. There was one really cool song that had a Ska feeling but the stuff I heard was in August? so all I can say is... I have no idea what the final CD will sound like, I don't even think they do and I must say that's one of the great things about this band, they do what feels right to them creatively and as long as they are honest with themselves and have fun something beautiful always shines through. Ska, Funk, Dance, Rock, R&B, Ballads or Punk it always seems to work and they pull it off better that anyone I can think of, actually Ween may be better at it, but No Doubt is more successful with it. But, I could be bias, you may want to get a second opinion. eric    Report
