I know we're all joking around here, but I still don't appreciate people accusing me of being dumb without even knowing me. It is sad that those kids didn't know that information, but the fact they want to learn more is the important thing. It's not their fault they weren't taught it all. Turns out it doesn't actually stand for anything. "D-Day and H-Hour are general terms used for the day and hour to mark the beginning of an important event." I wonder what Doormat thinks the D stands for? Oh and I knew SS and that the V stood for Victory, I didn't know what E stood for though. Everything's going to change.    Report

Schutzstaffel of the NSDAP is where SS comes from, nazi doesn't stand for anything either, it was a nickname for NSDAP VE Day is Victory in Europe, in the US they have Victory over Japan or VJ Day. Hitler wasn't his real surname, his father changed it from Sicklegruber, it's still unknown why and who else he was really related to, there are lots of rumours as to who it might be.
