Today the work with Medici cu Internet started and they need your help. Their web page will be ready and online soon. This following letter explains:

I’ll get straight to the point: Embassy of piracy (thepiratebay), Anonymous, Hackers without borders and We rebuild.eu wants you to start working, through the Internet, to help injured people in Iran.

The work will take place on IRC #mci-ir @ irc.anonnet.org or connect here. The language used will be English. If you already know how to use irc, please join now. If you haven’t used it before, just click the link, it’s not any harder than MSN Messager. We will work under the name of Medici cu internet, Doctors with Internet.

Background:
Right now there is a lot of disturbance going on in Iran. In millions people are protesting against the regime, which in turn has replied with sending in military and paramilitary forces and shut down most communications.

Hundreds and probably thousands of people are hurt. Chemical warfare is rumoured to have been used against demonstrators yesterday. We might see more hurt and worse injuries as the day continues.

According to sources the injured get arrested by the Baseej if they try to make it to hospitals. Many embassies is no longer accepting injured people.

What are we doing:
Our part of the Internet still has a lot of channels for communication with Iran. But we lack the expertize for correct medical advice, and are now asking for help. Right now there are alot of bad advice being spread about how to handle the injuries.

We have a chat on IRC, and we would like your help in there. We will gather pictures and descriptions of the injuries in order to give correct advice how to treat them at own home. We will then publish the advice in our channels of communication with Iran. This will be done in English. Only confirmed doctors will be published.

The work will mean that you need to be connected for at least a few hours at a time. We cannot all of a sudden be faced with an empty channel. One suggestion is that the doctors helping out set up a schedule once you have gotten to know each other.

Any interested are asked to turn up at the chat, or if you don’t understand how to work it, just email embassy@piratbyran.org with you phone number and you will get help. You will be asked to provide some form of proof that you are trained medical personnel.

The latest most trustworthy report on the developments can be found here. BBC and CNN have extremely few sources since most journalists have either been deported, left on their own accord or are detained in house-arrest.

We are also in contact with Médecins sans frontières and the Red Cross. They work slower but we are expecting be cooperating with them within short. At least MSF have people on the ground.
Please get in touch.

Sincerely
Johan Allgoth
