Seriously, you need to watch the Missing Pieces! That is when we first see Neil "flaming arrow" Frogurt!
Thanks for the link Doormat, I might download the HD versions if I have time.
Out of the two episodes, which did you like more? For me it's hard...but I think I liked episode 2 better, the ending was amazing. |
|
Haha I was wondering where this "Frogurt" guy came from lol. I told my mom, who is a lost fan too, that he wasn't gonna last long and next thing that happened was him getting shot with that arrow! LOL I can't wait til next week!
Here's some theories from another music board I go to, (highlight if you want spoilers from this weeks ep): * Charlie Pace's father was a butcher. Could that
have been his shop that Ben visited? If so, it would definitely fit the
motif that the characters' parents are involved in whatever's going on
in this series.
* Sawyer stepped on something, piercing his
pinky toe. Just a thought...could it be that he's going to lose the toe
to gangrene, then move with the island back to the time of some ancient
civilization...so that the four-toed statue will be revealed to be of
HIS four-toed foot?
* Between the Ana Lucia scene, the shot of
Eko's brother's plane and the mention of Libby, every dead Tailie was
directly or indirectly invovled in tonight's episodes. And so was
Nicky--Hurley's dad was watching Expose, the TV show she used to star
in.
* I have a feeling Locke never died. I think the Nicky cameo
was foreshadowing of a reveal, that he faked his own death using one of
the spiders that paralyzed her and Paolo. That, I think, is why Ben
avoided the question "Is Locke really dead?"
* Goodbye, Frogurt! Gruesome.
* Now we know which item Richard expected little John Locke to choose--the compass.
*
I'll bet Mrs. Hawking (the old lady Desmond previously met in the
antique shop, who in tonight's episode was doing some sort of bizarre
combo of advanced mathematics and Freemason-like ritual) is Daniel
Faraday's mother at Oxford. Oxford is in England, and she's
British--plus, she's apparently a scientist, like him.
* Now we
know how two characters on the show (most likely Kate and Sawyer, or
Kate and Jack) will end up being the Adam and Even corpses by the end
of the series: They'll ultimately die during a trip back in time, 50
years before the series.
* MARVIN CANDLE IN THE FLESH! YES!
*
I don't know if you guys caught it, but Jin must be alive: In the recap
episode, it was noted that "Sun ***believed*** Jin to be dead." Not
that he ***was*** dead--but that she believed him to be dead. In
addition, Daniel Dae Kim was listed in the main credits for both
episodes...which kind of gives away that he isn't really leaving the
show. (Brilliant.)
* I still have a strong feeling that Jacob
will turn out to be John Locke. His profile really does look like
John's, and tonight's episodes offer a possible explanation (being
unstuck in time) of how he could end up a disembodied spirit in a
perpetually moving and vanishing shack.
* The whole "island
unstuck in time" concept was a great idea--think about it...this will
allow the writers to offer a LOT of explanations as this season goes
on. Want to explain the four-toed statue? FLASH--they're back in
ancient times. Want to explain the background of the Black Rock?
FLASH--they're in the 18th century. Want to revisit Rousseau and Alex?
FLASH--they go back to the days when those two were alive. Want to
explain what the heck the Dharma Initiative was doing? FLASH--they
revisit the 1980s (in fact, at the beginning of the episode, they
appear to have done just that, with Daniel running into Marvin Candle).
And so forth.
* Apparently, Richard is NOT moving through time
along with the 815ers and the Freighter Folk, for he tells Locke as
much. In fact, all of the Others vanished when the island moved,
indicating they aren't unstuck either. My guess--all of them have
already found their constant. That might offer a clue as to why Richard
never gets any older....though what that clue is, exactly, I'm not
sure. (And when they want to eventually explain that one....FLASH--the
815ers can go back to when he and the Others first arrived...which will
probably be when they eventually do an episode about the Black Rock.)
*
If it's impossible to change time...then how did Locke kill the Dharma
guards in the 1980s, if he didn't do so originally? And how did Ethan
shoot Locke, if he didn't do so originally? And how did Richard remove
Locke's bullet, if he didn't do so originally? And how did [the Others,
Dharma, someone else] shoot flaming arrows at the 815ers, if they
didn't do so originally? There appears to be a LOT of time-changing in
this episode, despite what Daniel believes.
* Speaking of the
flaming arrows--that might very well be foreshadowing of the 815ers
going back to the time of the Black Rock, or even farther. Consider
this: We've never seen either Dharma or the Others ever do that, which
is a strong indication the shooters are someone else entirely. Flaming
arrows are a rather primitive type of warfare, and would fit well
with...say...survivors of a wrecked 18th-century slaving ship...or
perhaps an ancient Greek-like civilization.
* What's happening
to Charlotte may give us a big clue as to what happened to Rousseau's
team, 16 years prior--they became unstuck in time and started losing
their minds, as a result of time-traveling, forcing her to kill them
all...and that, folks, would seem to substantiate my long-standing
theory that Rousseau's team were Dharma, and that Marvin Candle (who
will eventually lose an arm, just as Rousseau said a member of her team
did) was a part of that team.
* The "incident" Marvin Candle has
referred to in previous orientation tapes must somehow involve the
breaching of the underground donkey-wheel chamber, which was
foreshadowed in tonight's episode.
* I have a feeling that
Daniel might be very old, just like Richard. Just a feeling I have, too
soon to know for sure...but he doesn't seem much older now than he was
when Desmond visited him in the 1980s, and if that's the case, then the
scene of him in the underground chamber with Candle in tonight's show
might indicate that Daniel was a Dharma employee in the 1980s. After
all, he created the device that caused the big blinding flash of light
and enabled time travel to be possible, during the same decade in which
Dharma was active.

I watched them! Woohoo :D
Nice theories, darkblue! But some of them doesn't make much sense haha, I'll try to comment on them when I have time.
But jeez, so much to explain! AHHHH!

Good, but Charlie's dad was English, why would he own a butcher shop in America? :)

to gangrene, then move with the island back to the time of some ancient
civilization...so that the four-toed statue will be revealed to be of

Hahaha, this one is awesome.
* Between the Ana Lucia scene, the shot of
Eko's brother's plane and the mention of Libby, every dead Tailie was
directly or indirectly invovled in tonight's episodes.
Good observation!
*
I'll bet Mrs. Hawking (the old lady Desmond previously met in the

combo of advanced mathematics and Freemason-like ritual) is Daniel
Faraday's mother at Oxford. Oxford is in England, and she's

This thought has occured to me, but then Daniel is American. It never really struck me before that he's from America yet teaching in England...
* Now we
know how two characters on the show (most likely Kate and Sawyer, or
Kate and Jack) will end up being the Adam and Even corpses by the end
of the series: They'll ultimately die during a trip back in time, 50
years before the series. I think this is possible. The producers have always said that Adam and Eve will show viewers that they did know what they were doing all along, and weren't making it up.
* The whole "island
unstuck in time" concept was a great idea--think about it...this will
allow the writers to offer a LOT of explanations as this season goes

appear to have done just that, with Daniel running into Marvin Candle).
And so forth.
Yeah, they've said this Season will reveal more about Dharma and the history of the Island...I can't wait!
*
If it's impossible to change time...then how did Locke kill the Dharma
guards in the 1980s, if he didn't do so originally? And how did Ethan
shoot Locke, if he didn't do so originally? And how did Richard remove

Dharma, someone else] shoot flaming arrows at the 815ers, if they
didn't do so originally? There appears to be a LOT of time-changing in
this episode, despite what Daniel believes.
Who's to say those things didn't really happen originally? I think Desmond forgets he ever met Daniel on the Island, like Daniel forgets he met Desmond in Oxford. The same with Ethan and Locke.
* What's happening
to Charlotte may give us a big clue as to what happened to Rousseau's
team, 16 years prior--they became unstuck in time and started losing
their minds, as a result of time-traveling, forcing her to kill them
all...and that, folks, would seem to substantiate my long-standing
theory that Rousseau's team were Dharma, and that Marvin Candle (who
will eventually lose an arm, just as Rousseau said a member of her team
did) was a part of that team.
I think the nose bleed might be to do with the fact that she already exists on the Island at that time, only in her childhood form. This would be a huge paradox if they met each other.
* The "incident" Marvin Candle has
referred to in previous orientation tapes must somehow involve the
breaching of the underground donkey-wheel chamber, which was
foreshadowed in tonight's episode.
Kelvin explained it was a leak of Electromagnatism, which is why they have to discharge it every so often by pushing a button...before it gets too big.
 Everything's going to change.
